Account & Data Deletion

This page explains how to delete your DaVinChess account and the personal data associated with it. You can request deletion yourself at any time using the options below.

Delete from the app or website

The fastest way to delete your account:

  • Website: Sign in, open Account Settings, and use Delete My Account.
  • iOS / Android app: Open Settings in the app and tap Delete account.

Request deletion by email

If you can't access your account, email us from the address on your account and we will process the deletion for you:

What happens when you delete

When you request deletion, your account is marked for removal immediately and permanently deleted after a 30-day grace period. During the grace period you can cancel and restore your account; after it ends, deletion is permanent and cannot be undone.

Data that is deleted

  • Your account and profile
  • Imported and uploaded games (PGN), repertoires, and opening lines
  • Training sessions, attempts, drills, and statistics
  • Linked chess-account associations (Chess.com / Lichess usernames)
  • Feedback messages and any screenshots you uploaded

Data that may be retained

  • Audit logs: Kept up to 1 year for security and compliance.
  • Payment records: Retained by our payment providers (Stripe, Apple, or Google) for up to 7 years as required by tax and accounting laws. We do not store your card details.

Note: deleting your DaVinChess account does not cancel a subscription billed by Apple or Google. Manage or cancel store-billed subscriptions in your App Store or Google Play account settings.

Export first (optional)

Before deleting, you can download a copy of your data (games, repertoire, training sessions, and statistics) as a JSON file from Account Settings.
