Getting started
How do I get started with DaVinChess?
Open Sync, and link your Chess.com or Lichess account or paste a PGN. Your games are analysed as they arrive, and your openings, tactics and endgame drills are built from them.
Where can I export my games as PGN?
On Lichess: go to your profile and click the download icon. On Chess.com: go to your archive, select games, and click "Download". You can also just link the account and let DaVinChess fetch them.
What is spaced repetition training?
Practising something at widening intervals rather than all at once. What you get wrong comes back sooner; what you have proved you know comes back later, and eventually stops being asked.
Subscriptions & billing
What plans do you offer?
Three: Free, Pro ($9.99/month or $79.99/year) and Max ($29.99/month or $239.99/year). Free gives you a repertoire from your own games with daily limits; Pro unlocks every feature with generous caps and a 7-day free trial; Max removes the limits. Billing is handled by Stripe.
How do I cancel my subscription?
Open Settings and use "Manage billing" under Account — it opens the Stripe customer portal, where you can cancel, change payment method or download invoices. A subscription bought in the iOS or Android app is cancelled through the App Store or Google Play instead; we cannot cancel a store-billed subscription for you.
Do you offer refunds?
On a case-by-case basis within 14 days of purchase. Email support@davinchess.com and tell us what happened.
Data & privacy
How can I export my data?
Settings → Library → "Export my data". You get a JSON file with your games, repertoire and training history.
How do I delete my account?
Settings → Danger → "Delete account". Everything is scheduled for permanent deletion and removed after a 30-day grace period; you can cancel any time before it ends.
What cookies does DaVinChess use?
Essential cookies for signing in, which are required, and optional analytics cookies that are only set if you accept them in the banner. No marketing or advertising cookies.
Troubleshooting
My PGN upload failed. What should I do?
Check that the file is under 5 MB and is a valid PGN. Exporting a fresh copy from your chess site fixes most of them. If it still fails, get in touch and send us the file.
My drills are empty.
Drills are built from your own games, so there has to be something to build from: import a batch and give the analysis a few minutes. Sync shows you how many are still being read.
